When Alison started her blog, she didn’t know how far she would go until she was nominated for the 2018 Bake Awards. It been a long and adventurous journey for her since starting The Relationship Mirror. We had an opportunity to interview her and asked about her journey, how she is helping her audience and here are her insightful responses.

How do you help your audience at The Relationship Mirror?

The Relationship Mirror mainly targets people who are looking for a relationship with God or seeking to deepen their relationship with God. I aim to meet that need through presenting Christianity and Christian living as real, practical and possible!

What’s your biggest motivation in business?

My biggest motivation is my readers. When I post an article, I always tell myself that if the content helps even one person, I will have done my job well!

What’s your favorite business tool (s)?

Facebook is my main business tool. I share my published content on The Relationship Mirror’s page as well as several Facebook groups. I also take advantage of boosted posts.

How would you advise someone who is just starting out?

Have a vision of what you want to achieve, and how you intend to achieve it. Secondly, identify your target market and strategize on how to meet the needs of this market. Lastly, be patient and persistent – success does not come overnight.

In 2018 The Relationship Mirror received a nomination for the BAKE (Bloggers Association of Kenya) Awards and came second overall in the religious and spirituality category. The readership of my website has also continued to grow steadily, with a number of new subscribers signing up every week!

How do you stay fit and healthy as an online entrepreneur?

I work out at least five days a week, doing either skips or exercise workouts from YouTube. I also try to stay hydrated when working long hours.
